Lalu Muhammad Iqbal, the Ambassador of Indonesia to Turkey in Ankara, visited our Rector. Tahir Nursaçan, the Chairman of the Organized Industrial Zone and Honorary Consul of Indonesia, accompanied the Ambassador.
During this visit, the Ambassador and our Rector exchanged ideas on possible collaborations between Erciyes University and the state universities in Indonesia.
Our Rector told that they regard Indonesia as a brother country and added:
“We, as a university, take heed of the education of international students in our university. There are 45 Indonesian students studying in our university. We would like to cooperate with the state universities in Indonesia. In this sense, we are planning to visit Indonesia next year. Besides student and academic staff exchange, we also want to be a brother university by carrying out joint collaborations.”
In his speech, the Ambassador mentioned about economic, commercial, cultural and educational collaborations between Indonesia and Turkey and added:
“Kayseri is a city of trade. During our visit, we care about commercial collaborations. There are Indonesian students studying at Erciyes University. Our students are happy to study here. We will provide support for all kinds of educational collaboration between Erciyes University and the universities in our country.”
At the end of this visit, our Rector and the Ambassador presented gifts to each other.
